Jokimaan Paroni on monialayritys. Yrityksen toiminnasta puolet koostuu yritysten konsultoinnista ja toinen puoli on matkailualan toimintaa.

Vastuullisuus ja uudistava matkailu

Vuonna 2024 yritystoiminnan vastuullisuus on nostettu näkyvästi keskiöön.

  • Yritys on mukana vuoden mittaisessa EU-rahoitteisessa CE4RT-hankkeessa, joka keskittyy kestävän ja uudistavan matkailun koulutukseen ja verkostoitumiseen Euroopassa. Suomesta mukana on 17 yritystä.
  • Maaliskuussa 2024 yritys sai Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark Partner -statuksen kestävälle toiminnalleen alueella.
  • Huhtikuussa 2024 yritys sai kestävyyttä ja vastuullisuutta arvioivan Good Travel Seal -sertifikaatin.
  • Kesäkuussa 2024 Visit Finland myönsi Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) -merkin osoituksena arvokkaasta ja pitkäjänteisestä työstä kestävän matkailun eteen.
  • Inklusiivisen matkailun koulutuksen jälkeen yritys liittyi We Speak Gay -yhteisön jäseneksi kesällä 2024. Opastukset ja retket järjestetään sateenkaariystävällisessä ilmapiirissä.

Vastuullisuus toteutuu koko yrityksen toiminnassa. Yrityksen perustajan Päivi Oksasen intohimo on ollut alusta lähtien löytää keinoja toimia vastuullisemmin, viestiä asiasta ja neuvoa asiakkaita löytämään vastuullisempia tapoja toimia. Tätä tietoa Päivi on jakanut alusta lähtien erilaisille ammattilaisryhmille ja matkailijoille ympäri maapallon.

Sustainability and regenerative tourism

Jokimaan Paroni work in several different fields. Half of the company’s operations consist of consulting for companies and the other half are tourism operations.

In 2024, corporate responsibility has been prominently brought to the forefront.

The company is participating in the year-long EU-funded CE4RT project, which focuses on sustainable and innovative tourism education and networking in Europe. There are 17 companies from Finland involved.

In March 2024, the company received the Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark Partner status for its sustainable operations in the region.

In April 2024, the company received the Good Travel Seal certificate, which assesses sustainability and responsibility.

In June 2024, Visit Finland awarded the Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) label as a testament to valuable and long-term work for sustainable tourism.

After training in inclusive tourism, the company joined the We Speak Gay community in the summer of 2024. Guided tours and excursions are organized in a LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere.

Responsibility is implemented throughout the company’s operations. Since the beginning, the company’s founder, Päivi Oksanen, has been passionate about finding ways to act more responsibly, communicating the issue and advising customers to find more responsible ways to act. Päivi has shared this information with various professional groups and travelers around the world since the beginning.

Tekniset kohteet ja kiertotalousleirit

Pääosin ammattilaisille suunnitellut kierrokset esittelevät seudun kiertotalouteen vaikuttavia tekijöitä ja yrityksiä. Vierailumahdollisuus mm. Salpakierto Oy:ssä.

Kiertotalouteen tutustuminen eri näkökulmista voidaan tehdä mielenkiintoisesti ja hauskasti. Tämä vaihtoehto (1-10 vrk) sopii opiskelijoille. Kuvassa italialaisia lukiolaisia tutustumassa kiertotalouteen Lahden seudulla kahden viikon ajan.

Technical Visits and Circular Economy Bootcamp

These tours are for technical professionals or those who are interested in recycling and circular economy.

You have an opportunity to experience a world-class waste management center in Lahti and hear how it is possible to utilize 99 % of all municipal waste.

Circular Economy Bootcamps are designed for college and university students who are interested in learning more about the subject. The boot camp can last 1 – 10 days. Ask for more info.
